OUR ORIGIN

Foundation with a Purpose

Widening Global Access to Medicine Through Innovative Solutions

The problem is that emerging countries typically do not have easy access to clean drinking water and, oftentimes,

unsanitized water is the cause of the diseases the prescription aims to treat. Parents, desperate to keep their children healthy and alive, were giving their children soda or juice to take the medicine. Unknowingly, parents were making their children’s medicine ineffective and, as a result, many children were dying of completely curable diseases. CURE’s founders knew there had to be a better way to save these young lives, so they set out to develop a drug delivery technology that required no water for intake. The result is CURE’s flagship innovative oral thin film technology. Storage and shipping costs are also important in emerging countries where they have limited funds and storage space. CURE’s oral thin films are more cost-effective and compact to ship than pills and can be easily stored in rolls.

Proven Expertise.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our Sustainability Efforts

Changing Healthcare Without Hurting the Planet

CURE is considered a small waste generator as regulated by the EPA and local municipalities. CURE technology is aqueous-based and waste byproducts are neutral, thus reducing hazardous waste streams.

At CURE Pharmaceutical, we strive to improve the company’s eco-friendliness by leveraging the benefits of our oral thin film technology. We work to reduce waste and resource consumption by:

  •  Lowering energy consumption
  • Reducing our water use
  • Lowering volume waste streams
  • Streamlining production with concurrent filling and finishing
  • Establishing critical processing controls that are highly leveraged between products
  • Eliminating costly and unnecessary sterilization equipment
  • Reducing processing steps that can introduce third-party containers and closures
  • Reducing cleaning validation
  • Improving fast product transfers

The CURE process capacity is flexible and is easily tailored to a wide range of products and dosages. We designed our process equipment to use a semi-continuous curing and converting process, so we can run longer for larger lots, as opposed to the batch process with the equipment. Because of modularity, our process is very scalable if mega lot sizes are required and greatly reduces energy consumption

CURE’s development and manufacturing footprint is extremely compact when compared to traditional equipment pharma production facilities. This results in less space requirements and fewer process steps than traditional pharma manufacturing.

One of the ways CURE differentiates its position in the drug delivery and dietary supplement space is by reducing scrap production even further while also reducing the amount of materials, which is a focus for regulatory body mandates.

Our primary package containing product is engineered for single-use dispensing and can be densely stacked for highly efficient transport into distribution markets, which reduces fuel emissions.

Shipping conditions are ambient, thus avoiding complicated and environmentally unfriendly ‘cool-chain’ insulated shippers.

CURE is investing in its IT solutions in an effort to go paperless with financial, quality and laboratory systems. We also have added local automation to major process equipment to reduce operator interventions, thus reducing operator errors and improving process/product reliability. This reduces our carbon footprint with less paper and maximizes the potential with each CURE staff member.
